Design of Guangrong Bridge in the New Campus of Yancheng Institute of Technology
Abstract:
The topic deals with the Design of Guangrong Bridge in the New Campus of Yancheng Institute of Technology. The bridge is designed to be an assembled hollow slab single supported girder bridge, which has a 13.0m span with voided girder of 0.65m high. The bridge is designed to be 12.0m wide and can accommodate two-way traffic, with 2 lanes at each side which is isolated by a 3m well vegetated buffer zone in between. In addition, a 3m wide walkway protected by 0.3m high guardrails at each side of the bridge is available for pedestrians. Bored pile-column foundation option is adopted for the bridge abutments.
The paper focuses on the whole process of the design, engineering calculation and construction of the bridge. Firstly, the alternative of the bridge was determined and then a master design of the structures was formulated. It covers the calculation of internal force and reinforcement of superstructures, and substructures, as well as the examination of strength, dimension of sections and deformations of the structures. Finally, the construction design has completed, which includes the following components:
(1) Finalization the type of bridge
(2) Layout of the bridge and proposal for the size of structures
(3) Choosing simplified structural diagram for calculation
(4) Estimation of dead loads, live loads and internal forces
(5) Calculation of reinforcement, strength of girder sections, stress and deformation
(6) Calculation of substructures (coping and piles)
(7) Design of construction
